Sports Injuries

Quotes from Top Sports Athletes:

Arnold Schwarzenegger-

- "Let me tell you there is no better profession than chiropractic. Chiropractic is about health and fitness. Chiropractic is about natural, preventative health care. What you are doing, and I have experienced this for the last 30 years on my own body, means that whenever I have a problem- or even if I don't have a problem- and I go to a chiropractor, my problems are gone for a long time. I am very fortunate to have, so-to-speak, my in-house chiropractor, Dr. Franco Columbo, as my own personal chiropractor. So I visit Franco regularly, and he comes over to my house. He adjusts my wife, my kids, me, everybody gets an adjustment. And we feel always great when Franco leaves. Even when I have athletic injuries he's always there for me and helps me. You chiropractic doctors are really miracle workers."

Evander Holyfield-

"I do believe in chiropractic. I found that going to my chiropractor three times a week helps my performance. Once I drove 20 miles to see a chiropractor before a fight. I have to have my adjustment before I get into the ring."

Joe Montana-

"I only wish I had tried chiropractic a few years ago when I first started having back pain and maybe surgery would never have happened. I feel it helps me recover sooner and prevent injuries. It's about prevention so your body can function at optimum health."

Tiger Woods-

"Being a chiropractic patient has really helped me a lot. When I was in a growth spurt, my back became very sore, and I was weak. My chiropractor really helped me. Not only did he adjust my spine, he also gave me strengthening exercises to do. If you are tall and gangly like I am, or play sports, I would recommend chiropractic."

Bill Romanowski (Denver Broncos)-

"It does a great job with extremity adjustments and that really turned me on to chiropractic-feet, ankles, hip, back. I guess I always thought chiropractic was limited to the neck and lower back."

Barry Bonds-

"I think it should be mandatory for athletes to see a chiropractor. I go on a regular basis, because I want to prolong my career as long as possible. I see the doctor once a week, in between my training. By getting an adjustment once a week, I feel I can sustain my career a lot longer."

Wade Boggs-

"Chiropractic is a sensitive subject with orthopedic doctors and trainers, because if it ain't torn or broken then there's nothing wrong. But when you invest millions and millions of dollars in players, you owe it to yourself to at least look at it."

Ivan Lendl-

"I feel that chiropractic adjustments help to prevent injury, and speak out forcefully in favor of chiropractic. I support chiropractic care very much. I think it is great for sports. I think it is great for anyone."

Chris Carter (Minnesota Vikings)-

Chiropractic " has really helped me to keep my body in line and to help my body recover."

Exercise: The Missing Link

Diet and exercise fads will come and go, but the one thing that remains is they'll keep coming. Television keeps pushing this drug or piece of equipment and each year people spend millions of dollars for that one drug or exercise that will make them lose weight for their health. Or hope to look like the TV model that trains 6 hours a day and isn't working 10-12 hours a day.

There is a new break through in healthcare that could save your life. It is known to decrease your chance of arthritis, Alzheimer's, Diabetes, back pain and Cancer to name a few. The cost depends on how much you value a healthy life. How far would you walk to grasp such a magical pill? Would you walk a mile for this drug free miracle? How about every day? The fountain of youth is free and you can have as much as you want, whenever you want because it is called exercise. You don't need fancy equipment or fad diet pills. All you need to do is exercise. Whether you start to park farther away from a store, or take the stairs, or a walk with someone, it is free and effective. The most effective way to exercise to lose fat would be to start your day off with 40 minutes of aerobic exercise to raise your metabolism for 18 hrs and even lift some weights to raise your metabolism for another 32 hrs. Remember muscle burns more calories than fat and no one becomes huge over night by lifting weights. It takes years of training hard so don't be afraid. Watch ESPN2 in the morning for some great guidance or visit your local gym, trainer or Doctor for help.

We lead all nations in the HUMAN RACE. That is in the 50-59 age group, 52% of the women and 42% of the men are overweight. Even more disturbing is the fact that over 25% of our kids, 6-17, and 20% of our children 20-29 are overweight. If buying equipment is what it takes to get you exercising than great. The point is you have to do it. There is no magic pill or diet that can provide you with safe, long-lasting weight loss. The only scientifically proven method, not funded by someone waiting to making money, is exercise. One study trained 90 year old men and women 3x/week for 8 weeks. Their strength increased 174%, two no longer needed canes and one could get out of a chair alone. Before starting any exercise routine, discuss your health concerns with your medical doctor or chiropractic doctor. If you have any problems during exercise please consult a health professional immediately. Remember the weight doesn't come on over night and it is not going to come off overnight. So grab your spouse or a friend and take a walk, play tennis, go dancing and have fun. Start slow, and enjoy greater health and increased energy. You'll feel like a new person and you will owe it all to yourself. Good luck and best of health
